Kia ora!
Behind every great leader is a trusted partner who keeps everything moving forward. As the Personal Assistant to our General Manager Pilots and two other leaders within the Safety & Risk portfolio, you’ll be at the heart of the action, enabling strategic focus, ensuring seamless operations and fostering strong connections across the business.
With a strong reputation for culture, service and innovation, Air New Zealand is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most attractive employers. Behind the scenes, our corporate teams shape strategy, drive performance, and support a thriving, future-fit business. In this role, which is primarily based at our Auckland Airport Campus, you will work closely with your GM, their direct reports, and stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring priorities are delivered with precision and professionalism.
About the role
- Enable your GMs to focus on strategic outcomes through proactive diary and inbox management, travel coordination, expense management, and high-quality administrative support
- Prepare polished reports, presentations, and correspondence that support clear decision making and executive communication
- Coordinate meetings, conferences, and functions, including agenda planning and timely, accurate minutes that drive follow-through
- Build and manage effective induction programmes for GM portfolios, ensuring new leaders are set up for success from day one
- Maintain trusted internal and external relationships, acting as a key liaison across business units
- Provide confidential, discreet support in a complex environment, ensuring sensitive matters are handled with integrity
- Step in to provide back-up support across the wider administrative team when needed, contributing to a collaborative and resilient function.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience providing executive support at senior level within a complex organisation
- The credibility, judgement, and communication skills to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
- High attention to detail, producing accurate, well-presented documentation
- A growth mindset with curiosity and confidence to leverage emerging technologies, AI tools, and new systems to improve productivity, insight, and the overall effectiveness of the PA function
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
- A proactive mindset, calm under pressure, with a genuine desire to go the extra mile.
If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
What’s in it for you
- We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work.
- Discounted staff travel on Air New Zealand and access to standby travel for you, your whānau and friends
- FlexiLeave, with the option to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave each year
- Superannuation support through KiwiSaver or FlexiSaver with matching contributions up to 4 percent
- Access to Koruhealth medical cover and discounted Southern Cross health insurance
- A strong learning culture with development opportunities to help you grow as we grow.
