Expression of Interest - Aircraft Service Agent (Invercargill)
Kia ora!
Interested in joining the Air New Zealand team at Invercargill Airport as an Aircraft Service Agent? We're inviting Expressions of Interest from people who enjoy hands-on work and are passionate about working in a safety-focused environment.
While we may not have an immediate vacancy, we're building a talent pool for future Permanent Part-Time opportunities. If a suitable position becomes available, we'll contact candidates whose skills and experience best match our operational requirements.
At Air New Zealand, we connect friends and whānau across Aotearoa and the world. As part of our airport team, you'll play an important role behind the scenes, helping prepare aircraft for departure and ensuring our customers and their baggage arrive safely and on time.
About the role
Aircraft Service Agents work both indoors and outdoors in a physically active environment, supporting the safe and efficient turnaround of our aircraft. Responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading baggage safely and efficiently.
- Cleaning aircraft interiors to a high standard.
- Working in confined spaces on Q300 and ATR aircraft.
- Operating safely around aircraft and ground equipment.
- Contributing to safe, efficient and on-time departures.
This is a physically demanding role, so you'll need to be comfortable performing manual tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
Role Requirements
To be considered for future opportunities, you must have:
- Entitlement to live and work permanently in New Zealand at the time of applying (New Zealand or Australian Citizen, or New Zealand Permanent Resident).
- A Full or Restricted New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Experience working in a physically demanding role within a safety-conscious environment.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering safe, timely outcomes for our customers.
- Resilience, good time management skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Shift Work Roster
When opportunities become available, these Permanent Part-Time roles typically involve working between 36 and 72 hours per fortnight. You'll work on a rotating roster based on operational requirements and flight schedules. Our operation runs daily between 5.00am and 10.00pm, including weekends, evenings and public holidays, so flexibility to work across these shift times is essential.
Unfortunately, we do not accept email applications. If you'd like to be considered for future opportunities, please submit your Expression of Interest online by clicking the Apply button.
Ready to take off?
If you're looking for a hands-on role where every shift makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Submit your Expression of Interest today and, if a suitable opportunity becomes available, we'll be in touch.
Applications close 30 August 2026
At Air New Zealand, we are proudly committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and believe in creating a truly inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive. Our people are our greatest asset – because while everything else we do in our operation can be replicated by our competitors, it is our people that truly set us apart. We are firm believers in celebrating the differences and diversity of thought our people bring to their roles.
