Jet Maintenance Operations Duty Manager

Kia ora!

Lead the Technical Heartbeat of Air New Zealand’s Jet Fleet. Are you ready to take the reins in one of the most dynamic and vital roles within Air New Zealand’s Jet Engineering Operation? We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join us as a Jet Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) Duty Manager at our Integrated Operations Centre in Auckland. This is a permanent, full-time role on a shift-based roster.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager of the Jet Maintenance Operations Centre, you’ll be the driving force behind the technical operations of our jet fleet – ensuring online aircraft are maintained with precision, safety, and efficiency. You’ll lead a high-performing duty MOC team, working shoulder to shoulder with Airline Operations and wider business units to deliver world-class performance and reliability.

Every day will see you making real-time decisions with a clear focus on safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You’ll oversee the "technical day of operation", taking responsibility for the health of our in-service fleet and ensuring compliance with both Air New Zealand and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Bring:

This role calls for deep technical expertise and strategic thinking. You’ll need a minimum of 10 years’ experience in aviation maintenance, alongside the leadership, commercial judgement, and communication skills to make a real impact in a fast-paced operational environment.

Working closely with Line and Hangar Duty Managers, you’ll be part of a fully integrated team aligned toward best-in-class customer experience and operational excellence. You’ll need to be a strong collaborator, skilled negotiator, and clear communicator who thrives under pressure.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate leader who embraces Air New Zealand’s Kia Mau Strategy and leads by example.
  • Someone with a proven track record of delivering high performance and building strong, engaged teams.
  • A commercially astute operator who keeps customer experience and safety at the core of every decision.
  • A champion of a positive, proactive safety culture.

Desirable Extras:

  • CAA NZ Licence with authorisations on the Air NZ fleet
  • Experience in line station or line maintenance
  • Background in technical supervision or planning support

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to be at the forefront of keeping Air New Zealand’s jet fleet flying safely, smoothly, and on time. If you’re ready to step into a pivotal leadership role in a world-class operation, we want to hear from you. Apply now and bring your expertise to where it counts.
