Learning Specialist

To support the ongoing transformation of our airline and the massively important part the Learning function has to play, we are now recruiting for a Learning Specialist in the Learning Tribe. This role will be pivotal to scope and meet learning needs across the organisation. You will be required to analyse existing and future capability gaps, and then help to develop modern learning solutions with a talented learning team. Working in agile structured squads, you will be able to meet the needs on any number of capability requirements at Air New Zealand and have an ability to flow to work as required. The role will look to deliver world-class learning experiences with a focus on maximising learning effectiveness and ROI while keeping safety at the core always. 

Your key responsibilities will include:  

  • Applying modern learning needs analysis techniques and consulting strategies to address organisational and strategic requirements for learning and development across key business areas.  
  • Developing and designing learning solutions for delivery at speed and scale, using the latest digital learning methodologies.  
  • Working collaboratively with other Learning Specialists and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions align with the objectives identified during skills and knowledge gap analysis.  
  • Instructional design of a range of content materials to develop modern and engaging learning experiences.
  • Use modern learning measurement techniques to understand the ROI of initiatives, evaluate the effectiveness of our interventions and ensure remedial actions are taken to continuously improve learning effectiveness.  
  • Networking and maintaining contact with providers, specialists and centres of excellence to stay abreast of developments within the L&D and peripheral disciplines.  
  • Developing and maintaining strong commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Actively following and optimising established processes and platforms to deliver learning solutions on time and within budget.  
  • Actively ensuring the safety and security of all people, assets, systems and procedures under own control or influence to ensure compliance with safe operating practices, company policies and all regulations.  

What you will bring to the role:  

  • Five years' experience in either internal or external learning design and development   
  • Experience in developing blended and multi-modal learning solutions based on core learning principles and models  
  • Experience in developing capability frameworks to support robust learning strategy 
  • Data driven learning measurement 
  • Experience in working for large multinational, complex organisation is desired
