Learning Specialist - Instructional Design - 6 month fixed term

To support the ongoing transformation of our airline and Learning function, we are now recruiting for a Learning Specialist – Instructional Design. This role is a 6 month fixed term parental leave cover.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be strong on learning theory and practice, a people-person who is comfortable dealing with stakeholders in high pressure environments, and a tech-savvy creative focused on experiential instructional design. 

You’ll work with a team of instructional designers and learning consultants in an agile structured squad and report to the Instructional Design Manager (Chapter Lead). You’ll write, design and produce industry standard and high-quality instructional content, enhancing the learning experience for the end user, complying with industry best practices and adhering to our regulatory requirements. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and designing learning solutions for delivery at speed and scale, using the latest digital learning methodologies
  • Writing instructor-led workshops and creating presentations, guides and workbooks
  • Managing stakeholders and subject matter experts, and working collaboratively with other Learning Specialists to ensure learning solutions align with the objectives
  • Efficiently managing your production and learning design schedule and meeting specified production timeline requirements
  • Ensuring learning is accessible and inclusive
  • Actively complying with safe operating practices, company policies and regulations.

What you will bring to the role:

  • 3+ years in an enterprise learning environment
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of learning theory and practice including Blooms Taxonomy
  • Experience with digital learning design and learning content authoring tools, including Articulate and Adobe Suite 
  • Experience with filming and multimedia production 
  • A growth mindset and a human-centred design approach to learning design

Nice to bring to the role:

  • Experience working for a regulatory and/or operational environment  
  • An interest in AI and how it can be used in the learning environment
  • An understanding of Agile environments
  • Familiarity with XR technologies
