Senior Product Manager
Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth and our purpose is to enrich our country through connecting New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world. As a brand promise, we endeavour to offer Manaaki to all of our employees and customers – taking care further than any other airline and creating compelling experiences that empower and connect. We expect to lead a significant transformation of our customer experience and product portfolio over the coming years and we're searching for a Senior Product Manager to join us who will be instrumental in driving and realising key elements of that vision.
The Senior Product Manager is the voice of the customer and champions user experience and business value, with a core focus on delivering product outcomes. With a deep understanding of customers, commercial outcomes, operational processes and technology, this role is responsible for developing a product vision, formulating strategy, designing the product roadmap, and working closely with business partners to deliver against it.
This role will suit someone who is naturally curious with a strategic mindset, whilst also being prepared to get into the detail. There will be a level of ambiguity you'll need to be comfortable with, coupled with complexity of the airline environment and the pace at which we work. Your desire to get the best outcome for our customers will help you drive outcomes, and you'll have demonstrated you can work with various business stakeholders, building trust and partnerships across a wide group.
This is a senior role, requiring significant depth of experience working in product development and management.
Our successful candidate:
Has an outcome orientation, places a customer lens on all that they do
Demonstrates strong commercial acumen, with experience identifying and leveraging market opportunities to drive product profitability and achieving business outcomes
Has a unique balance of vision and pragmatism. We want someone who will push the envelope and work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly
Has excellent stakeholder influencing skills and is comfortable navigating across multiple business units as well as maintaining strong relationships with external vendors
Has a proven track record of taking ownership, creating product visions and strategies, and delivering meaningful outcomes
Brings strong storytelling capability, championing product outcomes, strategy and roadmaps across diverse partners including technical, commercial, operations and external
Demonstrates experience driving product outcomes across the lifecycle, and within an agile environment
Is strategic, creative and an analytic thinker
Is a strong innovator and communicator who collaborates, initiates, advocates and influences effectively
In return:
You'll be involved in bringing to life new and innovative customer products, or taking existing Air New Zealand products to the next level. You'll be driving the future of our customer proposition across a portfolio of products, and ensuring this can be operationalised. You'll join a supportive team who all work collaboratively together to achieve great things for our customers and Air New Zealand.
Please apply via our Careers site, as we cannot accept applications via email. Due to the closedown of our corporate office over the Christmas period, applications for this role are open for an extended period of time. We will be in touch with shortlisted candidates as soon as possible once we return.
At Air New Zealand, we are proudly committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and believe in creating a truly inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive. Our people are our greatest asset – because while everything else we do in our operation can be replicated by our competitors, it is our people that truly set us apart. We are firm believers in celebrating the differences and diversity of thought our people bring to their roles. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with a disability, additional health and mental health needs, and/or are neurodiverse to apply for our roles.
If you have encountered any accessibility barriers and require further information or reasonable accommodations to our recruitment process, please reach out to the recruiter listed on this job advert so they are able to support you to freely participate equitably in our recruitment and selection process.
