Senior Product Manager - Next Gen Retail

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand's purpose is to enrich our country by connecting New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world, and as a brand promise, we endeavour to offer Manaaki to all our employees and customers - taking care further than any other airline. Our goal is to create compelling experiences that empower and connect, and as part of that, we are embarking on a significant transformation of the customer online retail experience.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for our Next Generation Retail Product to join us, in a role that will be instrumental in leading and realising key elements of the product vision: developing the best airline retail experience! This role will suit someone that has a strong experience with modern online retailing, a self-starter who is prepared to get into the detail, whilst having excellent stakeholder management and very strong strategy development and execution skills.

This role will be the voice of the customer and champion business value and customer experience, coupled with the ability to deliver exceptional outcomes. With a deep understanding of online retail, customers, business processes and technology, this role is responsible for developing the product vision, formulating the strategy and product roadmap, stakeholder engagement and working in a cross-functional team to deliver our next-generation retail experience!

There will be a level of ambiguity you will need to be comfortable with, coupled with the complexity of the airline environment and the pace at which we work. Your curious nature will help you drive outcomes, and you will have demonstrated that you can lead large-scale organisation initiatives with a broad set of stakeholders, building trust and partnerships across a wide group.

Our successful candidate:

  • Must have strong experience in strategy development, execution and driving the product vision.

  • Has a proven track record of strong stakeholder management, taking ownership and working with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.

  • Strong experience in eCommerce, online retailing, offer and order management, digital storefronts.

  • Strong commercial acumen and leading business cases and RFP processes.

  • Has excellent stakeholder influencing skills and is comfortable navigating multiple complex business units and maintaining strong commercial relationships with external vendors.

  • Puts an internal and external customer lens in all that you do.

  • Has a unique balance of vision and pragmatism: someone who will push the envelope but work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly.

  • Strong leader and communicator who collaborates, initiates, advocates and brings people along the journey.

In return, we offer fantastic staff travel benefits, flexible working, life insurance, paid parental leave, health and wellbeing support, plus much more. We also believe in growing our people and offer fantastic career progression opportunities. If you are eager to make an impact on a large, complex and totally iconic Kiwi business, take flight and apply now via our Careers site. Applications cannot be received via email. If you have already applied for this position, we kindly ask that you refrain from submitting another application. Thank you for your understanding.
